Nattokinase has been promoted as an alternative anticancer treatment based on the notion that it can help dissolve the fibrin coating around a tumor and increase oxygen supply in the blood to inhibit cancer cell growth.
Nattokinase Research for cancer
Scientific research has shown promising results regarding nattokinase’s potential as a cancer-fighting enzyme. A study published in the Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry found that nattokinase inhibited the growth of various cancer cells, including breast, lung, and colon cancer cells. The study suggested that nattokinase could be a valuable alternative treatment for cancer.
Another study published in the journal Nutrition and Cancer examined the effects of nattokinase on tumor growth in mice. The study found that nattokinase significantly reduced tumor growth and inhibited the formation of new blood vessels in tumors, a process known as tumor angiogenesis. The study suggests that nattokinase may be a potentially effective treatment for cancer.
Nattokinase and Tumor Growth
Nattokinase may inhibit tumor growth by breaking down fibrin, a protein that protects cancer cells and allows them to continue growing. This breakdown of fibrin can interfere with tumor angiogenesis, the process by which tumors form new blood vessels to supply their growing mass with nutrients and oxygen. Without this process, tumors may struggle to grow and spread to other parts of the body.

Nattokinase and Cancer Prevention
As the interest in natural and dietary supplements for cancer prevention grows, nattokinase has emerged as a potential option for inhibiting cancer cell growth and preventing cancer from developing in the first place.
Various studies have looked at the effects of nattokinase on cancer cell growth and have found promising results. Nattokinase has been shown to have anti-cancer properties, including the ability to induce apoptosis in cancer cells, essentially killing them off. In addition, nattokinase may be able to inhibit tumor growth by breaking down fibrin and interfering with tumor angiogenesis.
While more research is needed, initial findings suggest that incorporating nattokinase into one’s diet may help in the prevention and potential treatment of certain types of cancer.
Nattokinase Therapy for Cancer
One theory behind nattokinase therapy for cancer is that it helps to break down the fibrin that protects cancer cells, allowing the body’s immune system to attack them. Research has shown that nattokinase may be able to interfere with cancer cells in several ways, making it a potentially promising alternative cancer treatment.
According to a study published in the Journal of Cancer Science and Therapy, nattokinase was found to inhibit tumor growth and angiogenesis, the formation of new blood vessels that supply nutrients to tumors. This indicates that nattokinase may be able to prevent cancer from spreading to other parts of the body.

While more research is needed to fully understand the potential of nattokinase therapy for cancer, it is an area of increasing interest and study in the scientific community. As with any alternative cancer treatment, it is important to consult with a healthcare provider before incorporating nattokinase into your treatment plan.
Nattokinase and Cancer Cells
There is growing evidence to suggest that nattokinase may be able to induce apoptosis, or programmed cell death, in cancer cells.
Several studies have demonstrated the potential of nattokinase to inhibit cancer cell growth in vitro and in vivo. One study published in the journal Cancer Letters found that nattokinase was able to induce apoptosis in human leukemia cells. Another study, published in the journal Oncology Reports, found that nattokinase was able to inhibit the proliferation of breast cancer cells.
The mechanism by which nattokinase induces apoptosis in cancer cells is not yet fully understood. However, one theory is that it may be linked to its ability to break down fibrin, the protein that forms the structure of blood clots and protects cancer cells from the host’s immune system.

It is also worth noting that while nattokinase may have the potential to induce apoptosis in cancer cells, it is not a cure for cancer. Anyone considering using nattokinase as a cancer treatment should do so under the guidance of a healthcare professional.
